D Series
A discharge valve is used in constant speed applications where intake unloaders are not present. It is controlled by a pilot device that signals the normally closed valve to open at the unload pressure. When open, the discharge valve vents discharge line air to atmosphere. When system pressure drops to load pressure, the pilot valve closes the discharge valve and the compressor returns to normal operation.
